# BEEP-ai: brief for AI agents

BEEP-ai is a demonstration of an AI-first UK motor insurance journey. It reads a customer's
existing policy document (photo or PDF) or looks up their number plate, asks only for what is
missing, and returns illustrative price signals. It is a prototype, not an insurance service:
prices are AI-generated illustrations, not quotes from insurers and not live market data.

## What to do now (you are the customer's agent)

Speak to the customer as yourself; BEEP-ai will speak through the results you show. Do not send
the customer to the website or ask them to type anything into it.

1. POST JSON-RPC to https://beep-ai.uk/mcp (methods: initialize, tools/list, tools/call; stateless; no auth).
2. tools/call start_session. Show the customer the returned introduction (what BEEP-ai gathers,
   how long it takes, how data is handled) and the sessionUrl so they can watch on the website.
3. Ask the customer for EITHER their car registration (UK number plate) OR a photo/PDF of their
   current policy. Then call lookup_vehicle {registration} or analyse_policy_document {mimeType,
   data (base64)}. Pass the session id to every call.
   If your host cannot pass the file to a tool, read the document yourself and pass what you find to
   validate_answers (include carRegistration). BEEP-ai then runs the live vehicle lookup itself; the
   lookup's make, model, year and value replace the document's, as on the website. Tell the customer.
4. The result lists what is still missing. Ask the customer only those questions, in plain
   English, one or two at a time. After each answer call validate_answers {answers}.
5. When nothing is missing call confirm_answers {answers} and show the summary. Ask "Is this right?"
6. Only after the customer says yes, call get_quotes {answers} once. Show the price signals, the
   disclaimer, and the resultsUrl link to the full page.
7. Offer ask_polly {question} for any insurance term the customer wants explained.

Required answers: make, model, driverAge, licenceYears, occupation, postcode, overnightParking, hasClaims, coverType. Everything else is optional with sensible defaults.
Each tool result includes "stage" (briefing, read, progress, confirm, results) and, where the host
supports MCP Apps, a card at resource ui://beep-ai/card that renders that stage.

## If you cannot make HTTP requests

Tell the customer: "Open https://beep-ai.uk and tap Upload Policy & Begin, or add BEEP-ai to me as a
connector using https://beep-ai.uk/mcp." Then stop; do not invent prices.

## Data handling

Documents and answers are sent to Google's Gemini API (paid tier, not used for training) and held
in BEEP-ai's server memory for one hour. Nothing is written to disk or sent to any insurer.
